Annexe looking for music acts to feature in new monthly live music series called Blue Wednesday
Hi Girls & Boys,

In support of the local music scene and to provide a platform for local musicians to reach out to their audiences, The Annexe Gallery is inviting local music acts to fill up spots for a new monthly live music series we are organising.

The series will kick off in November October 2009, on a Wednesday night. Each gig will feature two acts, performing a 40-minute set each. We don't have dates yet. But soon.

It's tentatively called: BLUE WEDNESDAY

Tentative dates for Blue Wednesday 1 to 3 are:

7 October
4 November
9 December

Everyone and anyone, from rock to folk to electro to whatever, traditional/classical or experimental/progressive, established or amateur, indie or mainstream, regardless of genre/style/language, are all welcome to apply for a spot. Solo, duo, trio, quartet... choir... village. However, there are limitations to how extensively our sound system can support bands with too many instruments.

You are required to play a 40-minute set. So you have to be pretty good.

We can't pay performers. But you also don't have to worry too much about wanting to make money for the bar (cause we don't have one!). And admission into the gigs will be made free to everyone. You can sell your CDs + merchandise. Most importantly, this is a plum opportunity for local musicians to reach out to new audiences. Or debut new material. Or just have fun.

To apply for a spot, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your photo, a 100-word bio, and at least two mp3s of your music or a link to your band page. Remember to type "Blue Wednesday" in the email subject box.
